Humble Beginnings
Del-co Realty Group was founded under the name, Del-co Real Estate, in 1975 by Dot DeLuca. The Company grew slowly, building a solid reputation in both relocation and sales throughout the Greenville market. During the early 1980's, when interest rates were exceeding 16%, Del-co actually increased its market share through innovative marketing and forms of financing. Even though other brokers were taking advantage of the negative amortization loans, the Company opted not to sell homes based on that method because Dot knew one day the purchasers would realize their loan amounts would exceed the payoff of their mortgages.
As a result of always putting the client first, by 1989, Del-co was selected to be the first franchise company in South Carolina for Prudential. In 1990, in order to secure Merrill Lynch Relocation, Prudential had to purchase all the Merrill Lynch Real Estate Offices. As a result, Prudential then sold the offices back to the former owners in North and South Carolina. Del-co then merged with eleven other brokers, and became Prudential Carolinas Realty. During that time the name Del-co Real Estate was changed to Del-co Realty Group w/ Carmen DeLuca becoming both owner and Broker-in-Charge. During the next seven years, Dot served as Vice President and Broker-In-Charge of the Wade Hampton Office for Prudential Carolinas Realty. In 1997, Dot sold her share in the company and in the year 2000, joined her husband, Carmen, and her daughter, Lisa, at Del-co Realty Group. Lisa, who was promoting Del-co in TV commercials at age 6, is now the owner and President of the company.
Throughout all the years of service, whether the name was Del-co Real Estate or Del-co Realty Group, one thing has remained constant....to be ethical in all our transactions and give the best service possible....always treating our clients like one of the family!
